Scientists discover cockroaches use a long-exposure photography technique to see in the dark



Researchers at the University of Oulu in Finland have discovered cockroaches possess a very unique method of seeing in the dark.

As nocturnal creatures, it’s been long known that they're able to see in the dark. But it wasn’t until scientists decided to see just how inept cockroaches were at the task did they realize cockroaches have the ability to capture what are essentially long-exposure photographs in their heads, giving them the ability to see in see in what would be pitch black to most other creatures.
